Raphaël is the oldest fine art brush manufacturer in Europe, founded in 1793 in Paris, France. Named after the great Renaissance master Raffaello Sanzio (Raphael), the Raphaël brand represents the pinnacle of handcrafted brushmaking, combining over 230 years of traditional French craftsmanship with modern technology. Raphaël brushes are created by traditional brushmakers (known as pincelières) who undergo rigorous training. The processes of arranging the hair and shaping the brush head are done entirely by hand, preserving the natural hair tips without trimming to ensure maximum softness and water retention.
